At Mediore, we recognise that we have a responsibility for our financial and economic activities, as well as social and environmental impact our business creates.
We support the UN Global Compact and support its Ten Principles regarding human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.
Additionally, we commit to the following five (5) principals:
1. Sound corporate activities
Mediore will endeavour to comply with all international regulations, rules, and ensure fair corporate practices are applied to all stakeholders in all business dealings (i.e. customers, shareholders, employees, business partners, and society. Mediore will maintain constructive relationships with administrative bodies, remaining politically neutral and complying with laws, and will not engage in relationships with individuals or groups that threaten social order or -safety.
2. Provision of valuable goods and services
In line with our mission, Mediore will strive to bring innovative pharmaceuticals to hospitals and health care specialists and in doing so help improve the health of society.
3. Respect for human beings
Mediore will respect diversity and individual human rights and provide a healthy and safe working environment in which all persons receive fair treatment without discrimination. It will also oppose enforced labor and child labor and respect fundamental human rights as well as workers’ rights.
4. Protection of the natural environment and human rights
In all its business dealings Mediore will proactively engage to minimise any potential negative impact it has on the natural environment and society.
In doing this, we will take into account not only the supply chain of the products we produce or purchase, but also the whole life cycle impact of these products.
5. Responsibility of management
All employees must understand that they play an essential role in fulfilling the spirit of our corporate social responsibility commitment and thus,
in addition to leading by example, management must ensure that this information and our philosophy is disseminated to everyone in the organization and to all related parties.
THE TEN PRINCIPLES OF THE UN GLOBAL COMPACT
Human Rights
Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
Principle 2: Make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour
Principle 3: Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
Principle 4: The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;
Principle 5: The effective abolition of child labour; and
Principle 6: EThe elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
Principle 7: Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
Principle 8: Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
Principle 9: Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-Corruption
Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
